Wine events are a great way to learn more about wine, get introduced to new wines/wineries and meet other people with a similar interest in wine. There are wine events going on all the time in Washington and across the country.

We've had an overwhelming response from everyone looking forward to the next official WineCOW party! So, after an extended break WineCOW is bringing the party to The Tasting Room in downtown Seattle on Saturday April 29, 2006 from 7p to 11p. Another great night of jammin' music, exceptional wine, food, and of course the official “COW” posing for photo ops. We will also have winemakers and Tasting Room founders Paul Beveridge of Wilridge Cellars, and Robert Goodfriend of Harlequin Cellars on hand to mingle and hang with all of us WineCOWs. <MORE INFO>

Rose’ Revival (& Pinot Gris)
Location: The Islander, 1st & Union, Seattle
6:00 – 8:30 PM.  This event features dry Rose’ and Pinot Gris only.  Should weather permit this will be an outdoor event on the rooftop patio of the Islander, overlooking Puget Sound.

Sweet Basil’s School of Cooking  --  Mother's Day Menu
Location: Columbia Winery, 14030 NE 145th, Woodinville
7:00 - 9:00 PM. Put together a nice meal for Mom with recipes as special as she is. This full course menu is prepared before your eyes and then served with award-winning Columbia Winery wines.  $40 per person/$35 Wine Club Members.  Reservations are required and must be made by the Friday prior to the event.  Cancellation Policy:  24 hours notice required to avoid Cancellation Fee.

Beginner's Guide to Washington Wines
Location: South Seattle Community College, 6000 - 16th Avenue SW, Seattle
6:00 - 9:00 PM (three Mondays, nine hours). Learn about the wines of Washington state. Certified educator/sommelier Dieter Schafer takes you through the eight Washington American Viticultural Areas. Course includes fundamentals of winemaking, wine buying, serving and enjoying. Pre-registration required. Cost: $83 per person.

Toast to the Northwest
Location: Dempsey Indoor Facility, Seattle
1:00 - 5:30 PM. This regional wine festival and competition features wines from Washington, Oregon and Idaho. The competition is a consumer's choice award where winning wineries will receive a medallion to take home and the option for a contract with the UW to supply the "preferred" wine of the University for one year.  Cost: $40 /$60.

2nd Annual Lawn Party & Wine Fest
Location: Quincy
2:00 - 6:00 PM. Local and Washington select wines will be featured at the second annual Lawn Party & Wine Fest The event is themed around old-time lawn parties, a “simpler time when afternoon socials brought friends together”. Catering will be provided by Idle Hour Cafe in Quincy. There will be featured art and live jazz music both inside and on the grounds the Reiman-Simmons House, a 1904 farmhouse listed on the Washington Historic Register and under restoration. Proceeds from this event will be used toward a matching grant that will allow the first and largest phase of the restoration to occur, with the goal to raise over $2,000.  Cost: $35 per person.
