Beginners Guide to Washington Wines with Sommelier Dieter Schafer.
Location: South Seattle Community College, 6000 - 16th Avenue SW, Seattle
February 26-March 4. 6-9 pm (2 Tuesdays, 6 hours). $69 per person.
Know the wines of Washington State! In this six-hour course, taught by Certified Educator and Sommelier Dieter Schafer, learn by tasting wines from many of Washington's nine Viticultural areas: Yakima Valley, Columbia Valley, Walla Walla Valley, Puget Sound, Red Mountain, Columbia Gorge, Horse Heaven Hills, Wahluke Slope, and Rattlesnake Hills. Educational Dinner with aMaurice Cellars Winemaker Anna Schafer and Sommelier Dieter Schafer
Location: The Art Institute's Portfolio Restaurant. 2600 Alaskan Way, Seattle.
6 pm.
Portfolio, the teaching dining room of the culinary arts program at The Art Institute of Seattle, invites the public to an educational wine dinner. Enjoy the breathtaking view of Elliott Bay from the fifth-floor restaurant as you learn about wine and food pairing. Upper-level students prepare a five-course Northwest menu accompanied by four wines produced by aMaurice Cellars. Learn from Winemaker Anna Schafer and Portfolio Restaurant Manager Dieter Schafer the elements in the food and wine that make them great together. $75, tax and gratuities included. Woodinville Women & Wine Presents - Bring Your Own Favorite Spring Wine! 7pm - 9pm.
That evening bring a bottle of your favorite Spring wine (under $12) be it white, red, rose, sparkling . (if you opt for a white or rose, please bring a chilled bottle) You will have the opportunity to taste other wines at your table, and a favorite wine will be selected per table. West of Western Culinary Festival
Location: Phoenix Art Museum
12pm - 5pm daily. All ages. Advance tickets $22-$75, tickets also available at door.
The 4th annual event presents over fifty of Arizona's most renowned chefs, along with wines from around the world. This tasting festival includes cooking and wine seminars, children’s and adults cooking classes, and live music on two stages. Different restaurants and wineries will present each day at the Dorrance Sculpture Garden and Great Hall. Hosted by Phoenix Art Museum, general admission and discounted ticketing included to the Museum's show “Masterpiece Replayed: Monet, Matisse and More”.
