A lot has been happening at WineCOW since
the last update. Mostly we have continued
drinking a lot of great Washington wine
(to be expected). We’ve also been
checking out new wineries, trying more wines,
interviewing winemakers, trying more wines,
adding new features, and trying more wines.
Our goal is to keep WineCOW.com constantly
updated so you always have fun, new information
to check out!
Everyone has been asking for the next WineCOW
party. This is in the works. We are looking
to try and put something together in March
so stay tuned! It will be another fun night
of great wine, music, food, and the COW.

PLANNING
A SUPERBOWL PARTY?
TRY IT WITH WINE!
The Seahawks are going
to the Super Bowl!!! And, as everyone is
getting ramped up to throw their Super Bowl
parties, buying up all the little smokies,
salsa con queso, and beer; we are here to
remind you to not forget the wine!
Actually, we have added a new feature to
the site, “WineCOW - Wine Party Ideas.”
Learn how to create your own wine party
or incorporate it into your own special
occasions. Although we live by the motto
“wine for everyday, no occasion necessary”,
there are also many times when a certain
occasion merits a great wine party. What
better way to launch this new feature than
to show you how to throw a wine Super Bowl
party! Learn which inexpensive Washington
wines should be there, what traditional
Super Bowl foods pair with what wines, and
what to have on hand when the Seahawks win!

FEATURED WINERY - GORMAN WINERY
WineCOW recently had a chance to sit down with
Chris Gorman, winemaker/owner of Gorman Winery,
for a new featured winery interview. In addition
to the new feature we are also offering two of
Gorman’s now sold out wines, “Pixie”
Syrah, and “Zachary’s Ladder”
Cabernet, from our WineCOW.com online wine store.
The 2003
Pixie Syrah is exceptionally dark
and concentrated with rich flavors of sweet black
cherry, licorice, cracked pepper and brown spices.
The long tannins of this Red Mountain Syrah are
balanced by its silky textured fruit and substantial
glycerin. This is a big powerful wine.
The 2002
Zachary’s Ladder is plush and
layered with ripe berry, cassis, tobacco and spicy
oak. A unique wine in the line-up of Gorman's
reds, driven by Seven Hills Vineyard Cabernet
Sauvignon. A great bottle of wine that even improves
even more after a little breathing time.

| TOP WASHINGTON WINES OF 2005
2005 was a great year for Washington wineries
making headway in the national spotlight,
but most importantly for offering great
wines! Many of the world’s best wines
last year came from our own back yard, as
featured in NW Wine Press, Wine Spectator,
and Wine Enthusiast magazine. So, we did
a little research to share with you some
of these diamonds in the rough. Of course,
we had to throw in a few of the wines we
as “WineCOWs” forked over the
cash for in 05’ as well. Check it
out in the “Top Washington Wines of
2005” feature.
